ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly Standing Committee on Human Rights held its 21st meeting on Friday under the chairmanship of National Assembly Member (MNA) Babar Nawaz Khan.
The Committee visited various sections of Pakistan Sweet Homes (PSH) including the Great Home, classrooms and the hostel for orphans and homeless children.
The committee was given a presentation on the overall activities of the PSH. PSH Patron-in-Chief Zamurd Khan briefed the committee on the issues and measures taken by the organisation to improve the condition of the children.
The committee appreciated the struggles and work done by Khan for the children and assured him that the committee would soon launch a bill for their protection and registration.
Legislators Begum Tahira Bukhari, Surriya Asghar, Kiran Haider, Asiya Naz Tanoli, Zahra Wadood Fatemi, Shazia Sobia, Musarat Rafique Mahesar, Aliya Kamran Murtaza, Farhana Qamar, Phyllis Azeem, Amra Khan and Kanwar Naveed Jameel attended the meeting along with senior officers of the Planning and development Ministry.
