KARACHI: 22 mega projects initiated by the Sindh Government will provide better transport and commuting facilities to the residents of the metropolis. This was stated by the Provincial Minister for Transport and Mass Transit, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah after meeting with a delegation from the United States Consul, led by Grace W. Shelton and others on Wednesday.
He informed the US delegation that the provincial government is working to improve the lives of common citizens.
He also shared with the delegation improvements made in the departments of transport and mass transit, Zakat and Usher, as well as religious affairs. The US Consulate delegation has shown its keen interest in the transport sector.
Shah said the Chief Minister of Sindh is focusing on the Karachi Circular Railways and mass transit project. He not only keeps him updated about the project, but sometimes takes surprise visits to check the pace of work on the projects. Mass Transit projects would not only benefit the common man but also give modern commuting facilities to the residents of the city. He further informed the US delegation that the project of Rapid Bus Transit is dedicated in memory of renowned social worker, Abdul Sattar Edhi, for his contribution towards humanity. The delegation appreciated the on-going development work to modernize the facilities for the residents of the metropolis. The delegation also lauded the efforts of provincial transport minister for the Mass transit projects, especially in the revival of the Karachi Circular Railway (KCR).
