KARACH: Additional IG Mushtaq Mehar has suspended Gulshan-e-Maymar SHO Inspector Mir Muhammad Lashari and his subordinate Sub-Inspector Shareefullah and ordered to initiate enquiry against them on the allegations of staging a fake encounter.
The additional IG appointed Inspector Fasehuddin as the new SHO of the police station and ordered Mir Lashari to report to the Central Police Office.
It is pertinent to mention that the area police claimed to have gunned down a suspected criminal during an encounter six days ago. However, the family and relatives of the deceased young man Ashraf Rind claimed it was a fake encounter.
In their statement, they said that the police had asked them for money, but after they could not arrange the ‘bribe’, the police murdered Ashraf Rind.
