ISLAMABAD: Sugar prices is likely to be increased as sugar mafia has stored large quantity of sugar in their storehouses in order to create sugar crises in the country on Wednesday.
According to the sources, powerful sugar mills owners have stopped selling sugar in the markets.
In aftermath of shortage of sugar, difference between sale and purchase has been created. Due to this, the price of sugar in black market will be increased.
Sources informed that sugar mafia is providing final data about the production of sugar in current year. Unsuccessful efforts have been made to decide the actual cost.
Source further added, “Industries and Production Federal Minister Murtaza Jatoi has taken notice of the dumped sugar in the sugar industry.”
The sugar mafia is pressurizing the government to import sugar worth million of rupees.
Ministry of commerce will forward the details in the ECC’s meeting after that shortage of sugar will be created in the country.
The sugar in Ramadaz is likely to be sold at Rs 100 per Kg.
