LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Secretary General Liaqat Baloch has expressed deep grief over the murder of 20 people for custodianship of a shrine in a Sargodha village.
“Bloodletting in the name of religion and for personal interest is a slur on the face of the country,” he said while talking to media at the Walima ceremony of ex-MNA Javed Iqbal Cheema’s son.
Liaqat Baloch said that Ulemas, Mashaikh Rabita Committee, and custodians of the shrines of Khwaja Farid, Kot Mithan, and Khwaja Moeenud Din Koreja would thoroughly examine the reasons behind the incident and take necessary reforms with the cooperation of the high ups at prominent shrines in the country. However, he added, if the government and the district administration had taken prompt steps, the gruesome incident would never have occurred.
The JI secretary general further said that total shutdown in held Kashmir on Modi’s visit had once again revealed Kashmiris’ hatred for India. He said that Modi’s outburst in IHK against Pakistan was nothing except spitting venom. He urged Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to declare a clear policy on Kashmir and said that nothing good could be expected from the Indian rulers.
Baloch said that the citizens of Karachi had been awakened by the strong protest of the JI, adding that the party workers would continue its efforts for the solution of the problems of the citizens.
