LAHORE: The terrorist attack in Parachinar is not against any specific sect, but it is attack on the people of Pakistan.
The government should initiate stern action to arrest elements responsible for terrorist attacks in Parachinar and Quetta, said PUC Chairman Tahir Ashrafi.
Addressing a press conference on Thursday, after a meeting of various sects, Ashrafi announced to observe June 30 as ‘Pakistan Stability Day’ and demanded that the government take action against elements responsible for terrorism in Quetta and Parachinar.
The meeting was attended by Ayub Safdar, Abdul Hameed Wattoo, Waqarul Hassan, Shafi Qasmi, Asim Makhdoom, Ghulam Ullah Khan, Zawar Naqvi, Tayyab Qadri, Zubair Zahid, Ashiq Hussain, Tahirul Hassan, Mujeebur Rehman Naqshbandi, Anwarul Haq Mujahid, Faisal Bilal, Tahir Aqeel Awan, Abdul Hakeem Athar, Aslam Qadri, Sultan Mehmood, Amjad Muaviya, Inayatullah Rabbani, Rashid Munir, Khaild Warraich and Ashfaq Patafi.
The meeting unanimously stated, ‘Parachinar strategy’ is pre-planned conspiracy against stability of Pakistan, adding, Parachinar terrorist bid is not against any particular sect but against the people of Pakistan. People should get united to contain terrorism and extremism. Any conspiracy to divide people of Pakistan on sectarian grounds will not be allowed to succeed. The meeting also urged on government of Pakistan to pubic conspiracies of Indian and Afghan secret agencies against Pakistan. Leadership of different religious sects also demanded of Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan to make immediate visit of Parachinar and urged on Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to announce compensation package for victims of terrorism in Parachinar and Quetta.
Addressing the conference, Ashrafi also condemned attack at Masjid-e-Nabvi on eve of Jumatul Wida, saying that elements making such nefarious designs are followers of ‘Takfeeri mindset’ and Muslims should have to contain these elements unanimously.
He also vowed that the ‘Pakistan Stability Day’ will be observed today (Friday, June 30) with support of all the religious organizations and religious sects of the country.
To mark the day Friday congregations all over the country will denounce terrorist attacks in Parachinar and Quetta. Meeting of all the religious schools of thought of Pakistan has also been called on July 3 in Islamabad, on account of Pakistan Ulema Council, in which decision will be taken to carryout countrywide campaign against menace of terrorism, extremism and sectarian violence.
