ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal is likely to depart for a visit to the United States Today on Tuesday to participate in the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank annual session that is to be held tomorrow on Wednesday.
Sources state that the interior minister will raise the issue of US secretary of Defense James Mattis’s recent statements given against the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), he is also scheduled to meet with different leaders of the world on the sidelines of the event.
The main purpose of these meetings would be to seek the support of world leaders and take them into confidence regarding the CPEC.
The minister is also scheduled to deliver lectures in School of Advanced International Studies and Johns Hopkins University on the role that the CPEC would be playing in the present and the future.
