LAHORE: While the operation against the protesters in Islamabad continues, multiple protests have erupted in Karachi which have brought the city to a standstill.
Reportedly, 28 people have been injured in clashes and seven of them are in critical condition.
All the shops in Numaish Chowrangi were shut down when the protesters gathered around the area in the morning. Later in the afternoon, the protests had spread to Shahrah-e-Faisal near Star Gate where teargas shells were fired at the protesters by the police.
Reportedly, the protests have spread to Jillani Centre, Hassan Square, Shaheed-e-Millat Expressway and Al Asif Square.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Malir Rao Anwar, SHO Memon Goth and a constable were injured through firing. He further said that all SHOs were instructed to seal the roads from Shah Colony to Shahrah-e-Faisal.
