LAHORE: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has removed the name of a housing scheme that it mistakenly accused of being unauthorized, from a public notice issued earlier.
In its letter to the CDA, the Municipal Officer (Planning) had slammed the latter for trespassing its jurisdiction and urged it to remove the name of the Palm Residential Apartments from its list as it fell under the territorial limits of Municipal Corporation, and did not require any approval from CDA. Earlier in its one-page document which appeared on its website, the CDA wrongly mentioned the name of Palm Residential Apartments among those which came under its own jurisdiction. “We believe that the above project has been included in the list by mistake, otherwise compelling the owner(s)/developer(s) of Development Projects falling within the territorial limits of Municipal Corporation, Rawalpindi to get approval from CDA is trespassing in the jurisdiction of Municipal Corporation,” the Municipal’s letter to CDA read. The letter went on to request CDA to send the case file of all other projects which actually fall in the territorial limits of Municipal Corporation, Rawalpindi but stands submitted by the owner(s)/developer(s) in Capital Development Authority by mistake. It is pertinent to note that developmental projects that fall under the territorial limitations of Municipal Corporation, Rawalpindi, do not require approval from CDA, which is a public Benefit Corporation responsible for providing municipal services in Islamabad Capital Territory.
