ISLAMABAD: Security forces on Wednesday claimed to have killed a terrorist belonging to the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and arrested eight other suspects during an exchange of fire in Dera Ismail Khan, adding that three of the army officials were also injured in the encounter. Three army men – Major Abbas, Captain Omer and Naik Adnan – were injured during a ‘routine sanitisation operation’, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement. It said that the exchange of fire with suspected terrorists took place in the Luni Jungle area, eight kilometres south of DI Khan’s Kulachi tehsil. According to the statement, a terrorist affiliated with TTP (Naurang) was killed in the exchange of fire, while eight suspects were also apprehended during a search operation carried out in the area.
