SUKKUR: Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Syed Khurshid Shah said on Sunday said that the federal government’s policies had alienated smaller provinces. “Why are Sindh and Balochistan not being provided with water and gas?” he asked while addressing a ceremony in Sukkur. Shah said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif could not be informed about the concerns of smaller provinces. “The PM rarely attends Parliament sessions,” he said. Criticising the government, Shah said that the central government had not focused on strengthening the federation. “How do we tell them about our concerns when the PM and the ministers never show up in the Parliament,” he said. “Flatterers never convey Sindh’s concerns to the prime minister. Balochistan and Sindh have not been provided water for the last two months, while several areas of Sindh are without any gas supply,” he said. The opposition leader advised the government to be cautious and avoid politicising national issues. “If the people lose their patience, the government will not be able to contain the situation,” he said.
