QUETTA: Registration of 3,250 non-government organisations (NGOs) working in Balochistan has been cancelled.
According to official sources, their registration has been cancelled due to failure to submit their details for scrutiny under the National Action Plan. Sources said that NGOs were issued notices three times under NAP.
There are nearly 4000 NGOs in Balochistan registered with Social Welfare and Industries Departments. Registration of 1,601 NGOs has been cancelled by Social Welfare Department and registration of 1,650 NGOs by Industries Department.
