BEIJING: The Pakistan Day was celebrated with national spirit and fervour at the Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing.The day marks the passing of Pakistan Resolution on March23, 1940.
Pakistan Day ceremony commenced with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by national anthem. Ambassador of Pakistan Masood Khalid raised the national flag and gradually hoisted it to the mast’s summit, said a press release issued on Thursday.
Ambassador Masood Khalid read out messages of the President of Pakistan and Prime Minister of Pakistan. He urged the Pakistani community to unite in order to achieve the milestones as advised in the messages of Pakistan’s highest leadership. He also urged Pakistani community to bring honour to the country and realize the dreams of the founding fathers to attain glory for the country.
The ambassador highlighted the importance of Pakistan-China relationship and said that both countries share the dream of development, peace and security in the region.
Students from Pakistan Embassy College, Beijing,sang national songs on the occasion. The ceremony was attended by notable members of the Pakistani community in China.
Similar flag hoisting ceremonies were also held at Pakistani Consulates in Chengdu, Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Shanghai. The embassy would also hold a grand reception later in the evening at a local hotel to celebrate the occasion.
