KARACHI: Karachi Mayor Wasim Akhtar has urged the Sindh government to solve the civic issues and help Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) to address citizen’s woes.
He asked the Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah to seriously address the issues in Karachi. The mayor of Karachi stated this during his visit to GTex International B2B Textile Machinery Brands Expo on Saturday. Global Enterprise CEO Mujib R Siddiqi, Director Sohail Aziz, General Manager Ghousia, Zohaib Mujib, Naeemuddin of United Machinery and other officials were also present on this occasion.
Wasim Akhtar said that Sindh government should address the issues faced by the Karachiites and support KMC to solve citizen’s grievances. “City and roads can be cleaned if the Sindh government lends us its support,” he maintained.
The fire brigade department is facing problems and does not have enough funds to purchase fire extinguishing foam and uniforms. “City has become a garbage dumping station, due to last eight years mismanagement by Pakistan People’s Party and Sindh government as they appointed incompetent people to run city affairs,” he lamented.
Appreciating efforts of Global Enterprise, he said GTex expo is very encouraging for business opportunities and industries revival.
