ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif returned to Pakistan after a three day trip to Turkey where he held meetings with the Turkish President and Prime Minister.
Sources state that PM Nawaz signed 11 MoU’s with Turkish authorities and Turkey agreed to invest in Pakistan in relation to the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
The meetings were aimed at improving economic ties between the countries.
Nawaz took part in session number 5 of the Pakistan Turkey High Level Strategic Council (HLSCC) and was accompanied by his wife Begum Kalsoom Nawaz, Minister for Petroleum Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Minister for Commerce Khurram Dastgir and PM’s Special Assistant on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi.
In a joint address with his Turkish Counterpart Binali Yildrim, Nawaz acknowledged that terrorism is a common enemy for both countries.
The PM while promoting collaborations stressed that turkey should invest in the education, culture and tourism sectors of Pakistan and encourage travel and promote peace among the people.
