Bahawalpur: Regional Police Officer (RPO) Muhammad Idress Ahmed has punished four police officials over alleged charges of misuse of authority, corruption and failure to control crime.
According to a spokesman for police, Head Constable Asghar Abbasi was dismissed on the charges of corruption, while promotion of Inspector Hayat Shah Jahan was stopped for a six months. He also censured Inspector Tasadduq Abbas for failing to curb crime.
There is no room for corrupt and inefficient policemen in the department and anyone who will violate rules will be dealt with strictly, a statement quoting the RPO as saying.
