ISLAMABAD: Pakistan President Mamnoon Hussain said that operation Zarb-e-Azb and other counter-terrorism activities would continue untill the complete eradication of terrorism.
Addressing the prize distribution ceremony of the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) on Tuesday, he said that the sacrifices of security personnel and civilians in the war against terrorism would not go waste.
Discussing the Lahore suicide blast, he said that such cowardly incidents could not deter the country’s resolve to root out terrorism as the whole nation stood united against this menace.
The president also prayed for the police officers and civilians who lost their lives in the terror incident and expressed sympathies with the bereaved families.
Mamnoon noted that education was the basis of development and prosperity for any country or nation. He added that only those nations could develop and prosper in the world which acquired the latest education and used their knowledge for the welfare of humanity.
He hoped that the youth, after acquiring education, would play an important role against ignorance and extremism.
The president added that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project had created many opportunities for development and urged students to acquire the latest education and technological skills to take full benefit of the mega project.
He highlighted the importance of the transparent use of resources and pointed out that the situation in the country had improved a great deal in this regard.
