ISLAMABAD: A big scam has been unearthed in the sub-committee of the Public Accounts Committee on Tuesday regarding Pakistan Housing Authority. In Pervez Musharraf’s time, the PHA did not file or finalise the financial statement from 2003 to 2008.
The sub-committee of PAC was held in the chair of shafqat mehmood of PTI and it was attended by Mian Manan and Javed Ikhlas. The sub-committee was informed that PHA did not audit their accounts and financial matters.
It was informed that a financial statement was made first time in 2009 by PHA and audit officials said that they had serious reservations on financial statement as formal code and procedure was not followed.
The present administration of PHA revealed that this matter was raised by the secretary housing and the present secretary prepared a charge sheet against those managing directors who failed to fulfill their duty regarding financial statements from 2003 to 2008. A letter has been written to the establishment division urging action to be taken.
