ISLAMABAD: Afghan Ambassador to Pakistan, Omar Zakhilwal has said that the closure of Pak-Afghan borders under Afghanistan-Pakistan Trade and Transit Agreement (APTTA) is illegal. The security arrangements along Torkharm, Spin Boldak, Chaman and other crossing points are heavily regulated.
He said he had written a letter to Pak army for reopening of these crossing points.
Afghan Ambassador in his tweet said that, “The closures of these crossing points, which are heavily regulated with full checking arrangements on both sides, serve no purpose other than to inflict hardship on ordinary people and hurt trade and transit.”
He said, “In my letter to the Pakistan military leadership, I strongly hoped that these crossing points were opened without causing any further unnecessary hardship. I conveyed the same to Sartaj Aziz.”
