MULTAN: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that the constitution prohibits people from criticising members of the judiciary and the armed forces on Saturday.
Speaking to journalists in Multan, he said that any individual who criticises the armed forces and judiciary of the country must review their action and words. The PTI leader also referred to the Supreme Court’s decision on the Panama case ‘historic’.
“Every political party supports democracy in the country and accountability will further strengthen” “The country will emerge stronger after getting rid of corrupt elements.” Qureshi said.
Qureshi further said that he had predicted that an interim premier will not appoint a 47-member cabinet, unless the prime minister will stay till the next general elections.
He also said that Shahbaz Sharif was not nominated for the prime minister’s position because of NAB references against him and, with him becoming prime minister; a race would have started within the party for the position of chief minister Punjab.
Qureshi also claimed that Shahbaz Sharif wanted his son, Hamza Shahbaz, to become the provincial chief minister, however, Nawaz’s camp within the PML-N did not agree with the proposal.
