LAHORE: Maryam Nawaz has expressed disappointment over the margin of difference between votes secured by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in NA-120 by-election.
The constituency is considered to be the stronghold of her father and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.
“If the results are correct, there is a serious need for introspection”, Maryam was heard telling PML-N leader Khawaja Saad Rafique, in a video recorded in the situation room on Sunday.
According to unofficial results, PML-N bagged 61,254 votes, followed by PTI’s 47,066 votes. In the 2013 general elections, Nawaz Sharif had secured this seat against Dr Yasmin Rashid with a margin of about 40,000 votes.
