LAHORE: A woman from Indian occupied Kashmir who had unintentionally crossed the border has been returned back to India as a gesture of goodwill by the Pakistan Army.
Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced in a press release on Tuesday that Azmat Jan, a resident of Degwar Maldialan village in Indian occupied Kashmir who had crossed the border unintentionally had been sent back to India on humanitarian grounds. This act of the Pakistan Army is part of its efforts to maintain peace and harmony in the region.
It is common practice for forces on both sides to return people who cross the border unintentionally back to their respective countries.
In February, a mentally disabled woman was shot dead by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) after she crossed the border.
Just two days after that incident, Pakistan Army returned two people back to India.
