ISLAMABAD: A meeting held under Nawaz Sharif discussed Dawn Leaks, stance of military leadership and protest of opposition.
The meeting was held at PM House and legal and political expert attended the meeting to review the ongoing issues in the country. They also discussed strategy against protests.
Separately, Nawaz accepted the invitation of the custodian of Two Holy Mosques to attend the upcoming US-Arab and Islamic Summit in Riyadh, the PM’s Office said.
Saudi Arabia’s Minister for Information and Culture Dr Awwad Bin Saleh Al-Awwad extended the invitation in a meeting at the PM’s House.
US President Donald Trump will also be present in Saudi Arabia during the summit and an informal meeting between both Pakistan and US presidents is likely to be held.
Meanwhile, Nawaz will visit China this week to exchange views with the Chinese president and prime minister on issues of mutual interest.
According to sources, Nawaz will discuss a set of issues including extension of scope of CPEC and promotion of bilateral relations and connectivity during these meetings with the Chinese leadership.
The chief minister of all provinces, Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal, Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and Federal Minister for Defence Khawaja Asif will accompany Nawaz during the visit.
Separately, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar postponed the conference scheduled to be held on Wednesday (today) to take stakeholders into confidence over Dawn Leaks.
According to media reports, Nawaz told Nisar to take all stakeholders into confidence before a press conference.
The minister was to hold a press conference on Wednesday (today) regarding the leaks.
