ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) during its countrywide operations on Thursday seized 6.2 tonnes of narcotics, including 1.77 tonnes of amphetamine, 4.37 tonnes of opium and five kilogramme hashish. The anti-drug force also arrested six drug peddlers including a proclaimed offender. According to details, the ANF Quetta, while carrying out an intelligence-based operation, seized 1,773 kg amphetamine and 4,374kg opium from Noshki district. As per preliminary reports, the seized drugs were intended to be transported to some unidentified location. Similarly, the ANF Rawalpindi arrested a local drug peddler and recovered 1.5 kg hashish from him. He was arrested from Shakardar Chowk, Attock. Meanwhile, the ANF team arrested a drug peddler and recovered 0.25 kg heroin from him. He was arrested from Punjab College Bus Stop, Wazirabad Road, Sialkot. A proclaimed offender was also arrested by the anti-drug force in Lahore.
