LAHORE: University of Engineering and Technology (UET) honoured the late Junaid Jamshed by naming their sports stadium as ‘Junaid Jamshed Sports Stadium’ in a ceremony on Monday.
Specialised Healthcare and Medication Education Provincial Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique, Junaid Jamshed’s brother Hamayun Jamshed, his sons, Taimoor and Babar, UET vice chancellor, Test cricketer Salman Butt and faculty members were present on occasion.
While addressing the condolence reference, Khawaja Salman Rafique said that Junaid should be remembered as a successful social icon for the youth as he devoted himself in the services of mankind. He added that Junaid’s lifestyle was full of inspirations for youngsters.
UET Vice Chancellor Dr Fazal Ahmed Khalid, on the occasion, said that Junaid Jamshed was generous and kind, and always came to serve the humanity. It is matter of great pride that Junaid was a student of UET. Juniad Jamshed’s brother Humayun Jamshed and sons Taimoor and Babar stated that the incomplete mission of Junaid Jamshed will be completed with that spirit to serve the humanity.
At the end of the ceremony, Dr Fazal presented crests to the guests.
